HFC Showcases Clean Stove Innovation at Innovation Week Tanzania 2026
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – Humanity for Children (HFC) is proud to share that Agness Issack, Director and Co-Chair of HFC Tanzania, represented the organization at Innovation Week Tanzania (IWTz) 2026, the country's 12th annual innovation event held at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.
This year's theme, "From Aspirations to Transformation: Innovating Tanzania's Path to Inclusive Prosperity," brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, development partners, policymakers, and community leaders to explore solutions that can drive sustainable and inclusive growth across Tanzania.
As part of the event, Agness participated in the session "Grassroots to Growth: Rural Innovation in Health & Livelihoods." The discussion focused on how ideas developed within communities can be transformed into practical solutions and scaled to create broader impact.

During the session, Agness shared insights from HFC's Clean Stove Initiative, a program that reflects the power of community-centered innovation. She chose to highlight the initiative because of its strong connection to the session theme and its relevance to the realities of rural communities.
The Clean Stove initiative is more than a cooking solution. It represents a practical approach to addressing several interconnected challenges faced by rural households, including health concerns, environmental protection, climate change, and sustainable livelihoods. By responding directly to local needs and circumstances, the initiative demonstrates how grassroots innovation can create meaningful and lasting impact.

One particularly promising connection was with TAREA, an organization active in the energy sector, including clean energy and clean cooking solutions. Agness looks forward to visiting TAREA's office in Arusha in the future to learn more about their work, exchange experiences, and explore potential opportunities for collaboration.
